Drake's new album 'Certified Lover Boy' is set to be released soon, according to media personality DJ Akademiks.
'Certified Lover Boy' was originally set to be released in January of 2021, but was pushed back due to Drake's knee surgery.
"I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery." Drake stated in an Instagram story post.
"I'm blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won't be dropping in January." Drake added.
Last week, while DJ Akademiks was live streaming he gave an update on the album. It was rumored to be coming out that Thursday. "I've seen some people say, "oh, it was supposed to be drop tonight', as in Thursday night. No, no it's not dropping then," Akademiks said.
Akademiks followed this up by saying Drake told him it is going to be dropping before April. He then said Drake spent a lot of time on this project, so it will not be a surprise album.
"Drake told me that it's going to be dropping before April so he's not waiting until summer to drop his sh*t."
"... because he's spent so much time on this project that he's not trying to put out a surprise project. He's gonna let people know at least a week before, bro."
